Recap
Sunday June 28 delivered another action-packed afternoon at SpareTime with five classes on the card and a few storylines that went beyond the results sheet. Brody Tarrant was dominant again — sweeping the 28sra 2500, Kyosho GT, and Unified LM Stock A-Mains — but the day's most talked-about moment came in Box Stock, where a tire failure took the wheel right out from under him.
Tarrant came into the Box Stock A-Main looking like the class of the field, but overheated tires caught up with him mid-race and he rolled a front rubber clean off the car. What followed was a rough early portion of the main as he tried to manage the damaged setup, eventually salvaging a P4 finish — a credit to his composure under pressure. Meanwhile, Joe Briggs was dealing with his own mechanical misfortune — a struggling chassis and car trouble forced him out before the A-Main even started, withdrawing after qualifying fifth. Racing is never just about pace, and Sunday was a reminder of that.
Into the vacuum stepped Steve Leonard, who put together one of the cleanest Box Stock A-Main runs of the season — 45 laps, wire to wire, taking his first A-Main win of 2026. It was a well-earned result from a driver who has been quietly consistent all year. Brayden Edwards ran a strong P2, and Tucker Ryan — in just his second week at SpareTime — went straight to a P3 podium in Box Stock, backing up last week's Ultrastock P3 debut. This kid is acclimating fast.
In Ultrastock, Joe Briggs recovered from the Box Stock drama to win yet again — three straight Ultrastock A-Main wins now — with Ethan Sprinkle and Tucker Ryan filling the podium behind him. Jamie Beach rounded out a solid four-class afternoon with multiple top-four finishes across Kyosho GT, Ultrastock, and Unified LM Stock.
Driver Spotlights
👑 Three-Class Winner · Tire Failure in Box Stock
Brody Tarrant
Three more A-Main wins in a single afternoon — 28sra 2500, Kyosho GT, Unified LM Stock — but the real story was Box Stock. Tarrant was on pace for a clean four-class sweep when overheated tires rolled a front rubber off the car mid-race. He fought through the damage and salvaged P4, but a dominant day that could have been historic was cut short by mechanical bad luck. The composure he showed after the tire failure was notable. Any other driver parks it. He kept going.
